Is it possible to take one of these and trim it down to approx. 2 inches and still have it work? (I can solder if necessary)

I installed these under my seats and they worked great for a few months, now only a few of the LED's work and only some of the time. Its not just me having this problem, my friend bought the same thing a week later and by the end of the month they were no longer working

About a month ago I bought my 1st pair of 9 Inch Neo Blue LED's when I noticed that my old underbody LED kit didn't match my new lights I went to the nearest Street Glow dealer and picked up the Neo Blue Underbody kit. Since then I have gone on to put in total of 12 of the 9 inch LED Strips... including areas like.. My trunk to really show off my new system inside on my front and rear windows to really give my interior a bright glow to go with my Underbody kit & under the dash board to light up the floor boards Overall.. I'm HOOKED ON THESE LED'S SUPER SLIM... EASY MOUNTING..EASY INSTALL
